2nd Annual 1st PLT. B Co 1/504 PIR Reunion

Well, the 2nd Annual 1st PLT, B Co 1/504 PIR, 82nd Airborne Reunion was a BLAST! It was held on the beautiful Norris Lake in Andersonville, Tennessee on August 7 thru August 9, 2009. We stayed at Sequoyah Marina. We had a 6 bedroom houseboat (that we kept docked at the marina) with a fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, and water slide. We also had 3 large coolers filled with lots of drinks, beer, and liquor (go figure, lol). We rented a pontoon boat so everyone could go out and enjoy some swimming, tubin’, and whatever else we decided to do. We took our runabout boat out as well since it goes up to 55 mph & can pull a tube fast and really get you bouncing across the wake. And the Carroll’s wonderful friends; the Bartleson’s, rented jet skis and allowed ALL of us to play on them. It was a great weekend packed with friendship, brotherhood, and fun! AND...I am happy to report that the 2009 reunion was more G rated than the 2008 reunion. Everyone (or should I say, all the guys) remained clothed...NO ONE got naked or showed their anatomy to all. This was a great bonus this year:)

Those who attended this year included…Nick & Brandy Carroll, Phil & Jessica Dentis, Mike & Ryann Campbell, William & Kristina Moore, and last but not least…John-Paul Bourgeois (aka Frexican).

We enjoyed dinner out at the marina restaurant for Friday night Wing & Corona night. On Saturday night we grilled out. Thanks Moore for doing the cooking! And thanks to Campbell for the FRESH gulf shrimp. The wonderful wives prepared great side dishes and kept everything under control…and I know that all of us wives were ready for some serious rest when we got home, LOL. Nick and I had to buy a new camera thanks to Frexican zipping around on the jet ski and spraying our boat with water while I had our camera out changing the batteries. However, he made up for up by taking me for a ride on his motorcycle...which was a blast. He could have gone a lot faster if we went during the day; I just have that need, that need for speed (hehehe). Dentis did injury his ankle while flipping the jet ski over, but has managed to do just fine...ya know the old Airborne saying..."Suck it up & drive on-HOOAH!" And that is exactly what he did!

We ended the reunion again with another breakfast at Golden Corral. Then everyone headed back home!

The one thing that I will remember the most about this reunion, okay the 2 things that I will remember the most about this reunion is…all the support and kind words from people just walking by. We had some old timers want to drink with the guys, other prior military service coming to say hi & talk about units, general people would say thank you, and some people dropped off six packs of beer for everyone. It truly showed that people respect and appreciate what you guys have done for us, your families, and our country! And then the next thing that I will remember is Moore jump starting the pontoon boat with a plastic fork because I took the keys the night before because I did not want anyone trying to do funny things…but they still found a way, LOL.

We also decided to send a donation to Blum’s Landing with the extra money we have left over. We want it to go to a good cause and there is no other cause we want it to go to!

I hope that ALL of you enjoy the pictures and the update. AND I HOPE TO SEE MORE OF YOU AT NEXT YEARS REUNION! The goal for 2010 is to get at least 15 guys or more! I am already at work for the 2010 reunion, so make sure I know how to get the info out to you. If you need help getting there...LET US KNOW, we will come and get you if we have to! We just want to see you there and see more faces next year...AND THAT IS A DIRECT ORDER FROM YOURS TRULY! Oh yeah...if anyone is interested in helping plan...give me a call!

Take care to ALL and STRIKE HOLD---HOOAH!
